COVID-19 Policy

From:       Jason C. Booher, Administrator of Elections

Date:         March 17, 2020

Subject:    Election Office Communicable Disease Protocol

In response to the concerns regarding COVID-19 the Sullivan County Election Commission encourages that the public use the following online resources available on our website and refrain from visiting the election office until further notice.

  • Voter registration applications can be submitted online if individuals have a record with the Department of Safety (DMV).
  • Address changes can be emailed or faxed.
  • Individual voter registration status, voting locations, and voting districts may be determined by using the voter registration information lookup.
  • Information regarding in-person early voting, absentee by-mail voting, and future election dates and information is available online.
  • Requests for absentee by-mail voting may be submitted by email or fax.
  • Replacement voter registration cards may be requested by email or fax.

Candidate petitions will continue to be issued and filed in the election office through the Noon, April 2, 2020 deadline.

Out of concern for the health and welfare of the public and our staff we have implemented several protocols, including a prohibition on direct interaction with the public.

Please consider email and telephone as the primary methods of contacting the election office.

In the event widespread community transfer of COVID-19 becomes a reality in Sullivan County additional protocols will be enacted.  We will make every effort to continue to offer a level of service that uphold our mission of conducting accurate, fair, and honest elections in a manner that exceeds expectations.
