Responsibilities of the Emergency Management Agency

Our mission is to serve the citizens, cities, and communities of Sullivan County through effective planning for natural and man-made disasters by coordinating an integrated emergency management system with all emergency response organizations, support services and volunteers.
Our primary goal is to prepare and educate our county’s citizens and to utilize resources and plans to help our county respond to and recover from any disaster using the four phases of successful Emergency Management: mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.
- SULLIVAN LEPC
- Hazard Mitigation Plan
- WebEOC
- Tier II Reporting
- NIMS Resource Center
- Disaster Preparedness for Seniors
- TEMA
- FEMA Independent Study
- CDC Emergency Preparedness
Sullivan County has completed the Hazard Mitigation Plan to better address potential natural hazards before they occur and to obtain eligibility for mitgation funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This was a multi-jurisdictional planning process and a cooperative effort between Sullivan County, The Town of Bluff City, City of Bristol, and City of Kingsport.
