Blountville, Tennessee – today offices providing services to Sullivan County residents are operating under the direction of each individual Elected Official or Department Head. Please check their link on this page for detailed information.

I remind the public that officials and employees of the County are here to serve but, in the best interest of the public and employees, I urge the public to attempt to handle business by phone or internet whenever possible.
If it is absolutely necessary you visit one of the offices, please take hygiene precautions to ensure the safety and well-being for all. In addition, if you have been in the presence of anyone with a high fever or showing signs of illness, please postpone your personal visit to conduct business.

Welcome to Sullivan County! Sullivan County has a population of over 156,000. Our county consists of over 430 square miles, 17 of which are water. Camping, boating, hunting, hiking, fishing, trail walking, and swimming are just a few activities that our area has to offer. Sullivan County is also home to the Bristol Motor Speedway, the world’s fastest half mile track.

LIVING IN SULLIVAN COUNTY

Formed in 1779, Sullivan County is the second oldest county in Tennessee. Sullivan County offers a storehouse of opportunities and beauty for every eye. Starting with the court house which has been in existence since 1850, history abounds. It is located next to historic Deery Inn which is surrounded by a walking trail fit for all seasons. 

With a population over 156,000, there are several parks for vacation and entertainment. Warriors Path, Observation Knob and Steel Creek are three parks that you will have to visit. Our county consists of over 430 square miles, 17 of which are water. Camping, boating, hunting, hiking, fishing, trail walking, and swimming are just few activities that our area has to offer. In addition Sullivan County is home to the Bristol Motor Speedway the world’s fastest half mile tack.
