Sullivan County Solid Waste Department
In response to COVID-19, the Sullivan County Solid Waste Department plans to operate our Transfer Stations as normal, at this time. Should the situation deteriorate, we will still remain open to the public, but will implement limited hours. If that becomes necessary, we will update our hours on the website.

WHY DO I PAY A FEE WHEN DROPPING OFF GARBAGE AT THE COUNTY TRANSFER STATIONS?
The program is funded primarily by paying customers with the county tax levy applied to funding of the recycling program.
WHERE DO I DISPOSE OF OLD APPLIANCES, COMPUTERS, ETC?
Transfer stations in Kingsport and Bristol
WHAT IS ACCEPTED AT THE RECYCLING CENTERS?
Mixed paper, cardboard, aluminum cans, tin cans, etc. Check with the solid waste department to confirm any other items.
